It's finally launched!

I've been working on this baby for months...it's my first major Flash project, and I'm extremely proud of it.

I will be updating it from time to time, and some of the features are disabled at the moment because we're just not ready for them yet (promotions and such; I'll also be adding to the portfolio, of course). But in time, it's going to kick even more ass than it does right now. xP

All the graphics were created from scratch in Photoshop CS2.

Please comment! I really need feedback!

EDIT: the preloader is only kicking in after 75%; please be patient until I can figure out what's wrong with it. xP

Very nice interface. Creative and memorable. I like the pull down folders. I did take me a little while to figure out that I could pull them down. I kept trying to click them. Just user notes. I'm not sure if that means that I'm slow, or that maybe the tabs need to prompt the user more to "interact" vs. "clicking." (maybe the cursor turns into a down arrow on rollover?) Just a thought. Nonetheless, once I figured it out, I thought it was a very cool feature. One note on the dragable area of the folder tabs. It looks like the draggable area is confined to the text and the area of the tab below the text. However, the tab portion above the text is not draggable. This really isn't a big deal, except that once I pulled the tab down to a certain point, it would have been helpful to have that area expaned a little more above the text. I'm being knit-pickey because there really isn't much to criticize. I'd like to take a look when the final version is complete. Well done!

One more thing to add. I think it would be helpful to have a button that "retracts" the folders once you've dragged them all down. When I pulled all three folders down, I wanted to click the last tab that has "the new solution" and realized it wasn't interactive. Maybe make that a button that pulls the folders back to the top? Just a suggestion. Still a very cool design and very creative. This is what interactive design is all about and the type of design that I believe in. Giving more control to the user, engaging their interest and prompting true interaction. Enough of these "scroll, click next" kind of web pages. Keep it up!

That is very sleek. Although that business card is in a really bad spot. + Fav

Thank you very much! ^^

I just started with Flash too, so I know it can be frustrating. There's a great site with loads of tutorials and forums that I use when I get stuck...if you'd like to check it out, here's the link: [link]

Their resources really helped me through the project and there's a lot of stuff there about clicking and dragging. ^^

Thank you so much for your feedback! *huggles*

I'm definitely going to try the cursor idea, and I'm making the tab hotspots larger as well...there seems to be a lagtime if people pull the folders down too quickly, so if I make them larger, hopefully they won't keep slipping off the damn tabs...

This is all new to me ><;

I'll see about a retract button as well, although I think I that might prove difficult because the dragging action doesn't actually use more than one frame and a retract button would require some tweening, I think...but Flash seems pretty flexible, so I'll look into it.

Thank you again! I really appreciate it!

Thank you, and thanks for the :+fav: ^^

Could you elaborate a little bit on the business card? I'm not sure I understand why it's in a bad spot, but if it is, I'd like to fix it in time.

Heh, that was actually my mistake. I seem to have moved it with out realizing it. It was almost entirely behind the portfolio image. Only once corner was poking out.

My bad

Oooh, that's okay ^^ I was just a little confused :)
